What's going on with cricket in Jamaica? Cricket is Jamaica's most popular sport. Matches are played throughout the island most weekends during the season. The major matches hosted by the Jamaica Cricket Association are played at Sabina Park in Kingston, where Test Cricket has been played since 1929. Over sixty Jamaicans have played in the West Indian side since 1928, these include Michael Holding and Courtney Walsh.
Domestic rivalries are kept burning in the Carib Beer Series, whilst international flames are fed with test matches and One Day Internationals in the Digicel Home Series. For match dates and fixtures please see our Jamaica Calendar of Events.
Why not have a two-centre Caribbean Cricket experience? While you are in the Caribbean, you might want to island-hop and visit another Caribbean island. Jamaica is not that well positioned for island hopping, though there are direct flights to Cuba, the Cayman Islands and the Dominican Republic. More relevantly, Jamaica is large enough to explore on its own and well worth the time to travel around it. There are some of the coolest spots in the Caribbean here.
