Yes Tourism is a small and friendly destination management company based in Tobago in the southern Caribbean. The company offers a flexible range of services including a tailor-made concierge service for individual travellers and small groups as well as tours and excursions around the island. It also arranges group events such as conferences and incentive trips. Finally Yes Tourism offers ground handling services for travel agents and operators sending clients to the island.

Located right across from the airport at Crown Point, Yes Tourism is a relatively young company. It is headed up by Patrick Dankou, who is of African and German origin and has lived in Tobago for many years. He has a huge knowledge about Tobago and an obvious love for the island, and of course he is able to put himself into the mind of the visitor, immediately understanding their needs. His contacts around the island are extensive and he is able to tailor the right service for your requirements. Yes Tourism has staff that are able to speak English, German and French.

The company offers a number of different services. Their concierge service is a relatively new phenomenon in Tobago. For this they are happy to be on call 24 hours and to share their exhaustive knowledge of the island to help you get the very best for your needs, whether it be a dinner reservation, a private excursion or surprise birthday party in a spectacular location. They can source anything you need that is available on island or nearby. And of course they are also able to provide ground transportation and meet and greet services on arrival in Tobago.

Yes Tourism is also happy to organise special events. They will help you in the planning – they know what is possible to arrange on the island – and then in the organisation and execution itself. Using their contacts on island they are able to set it up for you in the most appropriate way. Events can include corporate and incentive events and the spouse programmes that often accompany them, but it can also include organised trips to get the best of Tobago’s extraordinary nature and bird-watching. Yes Tourism is also happy to liaise with a wedding organiser or other specialist on your behalf if you have a particular project in mind.

Finally Yes Tourism also offers several Tobago tours. These include an Around the Island tour (in a very comfortable 12-seater), a Jeep Safari that takes you right off the beaten track, onto roads that have existed but hardly been used for a hundred years, a Rainforest Tour in the island’s excellent forest (the oldest forest reserve in the Western Hemisphere) and a tour to the offshore island of Little Tobago. They also offer tours to explore Tobago’s extraordinary sister island Trinidad and a sailing trip to the Grenadines, the scattering of delightful islands between Grenada and St Vincent to the North-west of Tobago.

STOP PRESS - November 2007: Yes Tourism has a new luxury SUV - an Audi Q7 with full air-conditioning, an excellent sound system and plenty of leg room for up to 5 passengers – for its new Champagne-style island tours. Patrick Dankou, the owner, is developing his top of the range tours. He has a day trip from Tobago to the Grenadines for a sail on the old island schooner, Scaramouche. And from December he will be adding the Tobago Cocoa Estate’s ‘Rum and Chocolate’ experience. The estate is owned by sommelier Duane Dove, who has been holding Rum and Chocolate tasting sessions in the Caribbean and abroad for a couple of years now.

Concierge Service
A concierge service can make a considerable difference to the quality of a private holiday for the discerning traveller, or to the execution of arrangements for an executive group. The support in the background will take the weight of organisation off your shoulders and leave you to get the best out of your trip. It can also smooth out the wrinkles of travel, even before you realise that they have arisen.

Yes Tourism are happy to use their contacts in Tobago to arrange anything that will make a difference during your holiday. This might include a restaurant booking, a bird-watching or island tour, a fishing trip, tickets to a music festival, a day out in Trinidad for sightseeing or the carnival, or perhaps private entertainment. They offer meet and greet at the airport and transfer to your accommodation. They can deliver a fruit basket, a bottle of rum, wine or Champagne and flowers. They can even arrange a surprise birthday party in a spectacular location or a special event for you and your partner.

Please contact Yes Tourism for details and prices for your specific requirements.

Destination Management
Destination Management is a service generally provided to travel organisers, but independent travellers may be interested to see the sort of services that are included in a ‘package’ or flight-inclusive holiday booked through a tour operator/travel organiser. In the UK and Europe it is a legal requirement for companies selling flight-inclusive vacation packages to provide a local representative/ground handler for their clients, together with 24-hour emergency cover to all travellers. Yes-Tourism look after several tour operators/wholesalers and their clients. They provide a comprehensive service, which is tailored specifically to portray the company’s image to their clients, while saving the tour companies the expense of supporting their own representative on Tobago. If there is a problem or perhaps a medical emergency, they will be there to help.

Incoming clients are met by an airport representative as they exit the customs hall. The client is then given a pack that includes a welcome letter, Yes Tourism’s office telephone numbers, a twenty-four hour emergency telephone number and general information on Tobago. Clients are then escorted to their pre-arranged air conditioned vehicle for transfer to their accommodation.

The services offered by Yes Tourism to travel companies, tour operators, wholesalers, corporate and incentive groups include:

• Airport Meet and Greet
• Welcome package
• Representative Service (English, German and French)
• Ground Transportation
• Hotel reservations and recommendation
• Villa rental
• Bus charter and car rentals
• Restaurant recommendation
• Excursions and tours
• Special interest groups
