Description
Set in the lively Rodney Bay Marina these two similar townhouse developments are situated within easy walking distance of a range of restaurants – including some of the best restaurants in St Lucia - bars and shops, and the popular Reduit Beach, where a variety of watersports is available. The great thing about being in Rodney Bay is that everything is so accessible that you do not require a car, and you can even walk to the supermarket. This is an ideal spot for families and couples who like the idea of privacy and freedom but are looking to be close to some action and the added convenience of everything being close at hand. A ferry service operates from the marina to Pigeon Island, and if you stand at the end of the boardwalk when the ferry boat goes past, and give it a wave it will actually pick you up.

Naturally the set-up at the two town house developments is especially good for keen sailors as they can moor their own yachts at the marina. When the annual ARC race arrives in December, the townhouses make for an ideal land base. Rodney Bay and Admirals Quay are both set within well landscaped gardens with an abundance of palms and tropical shrubbery providing a modicum of privacy.

ADMIRALS QUAY
A freeform swimming pool is at the heart of this development of 24 linked townhouses. Some face the pool or gardens and others face the boardwalk and marina. Only a few of the units are available for holiday rental as the majority are residential dwellings. This means that during the week it is fairly quiet with most neighbours out during the day. Each townhouse has the same layout and is individually furnished, each having a comfortable open-plan living and dining room on the ground floor. This leads out to a covered terrace with views either to the marina, the swimming pool or the palm filled tropical gardens. Guests can opt to dine out on the terrace, which leads out to a pleasant area of lawn. A compact, well equipped kitchen is located off the dining area, and there is a separate laundry room.

There are three bedrooms upstairs, which between them sleep five guests. The master bedroom with double bed has an en suite bathroom with shower. The other two bedrooms, one with twin beds and the other a small single bedroom (#6 with bunk beds) share a bathroom, again with shower only. The bedrooms have air conditioning except some single bedrooms which have ceiling fans only.

RODNEY QUAY
This is a smaller development of just twelve townhouses, divided into two blocks. Just three are currently available as St Lucia private rental accommodation. The units are extremely nice, and they are very well maintained, with pretty gardens edging the water, palm trees, very tropical with a very pleasant outlook. Like Admiral’s Quay they are also two storey, with an L-shaped living/dining area on the ground floor and an adjacent, well equipped kitchen leading to a laundry room and utility area. There is also a powder room. Double French doors lead from the main living area out to a covered terrace for sunbathing and alfresco dining, and this in turn gives onto the gardens. Upstairs are two bedrooms of equal size (#2 with double beds and #4 with twin beds) and views over the gardens, pool or marina. They are air-conditioned and have ceiling fans, one bedroom comes with an en suite shower room and the other with an adjoining shower room.

Beach & Swimming
Reduit Beach, the island’s most popular beach and one of the best beaches in St Lucia, is located on Rodney Bay and takes about five minutes to reach on foot. It is a lovely, mile-long stretch of powder soft sand and is fairly active. There are a few hotels along its shoreline and a variety of watersports is available, including waterskiing, parasailing, jetski, sunfish and hobie cat sailing. A ferry leaves every hour from Rodney Bay to Pigeon island where there are a number of small stretches of white sand. The northern area of Causeway beach is popular with St Lucians on weekends and bank holidays, and has a picnic area. Admiral’s Quay and Rodney Bay each have a large communal swimming pool, with Rodney Quay also having a separate Jacuzzi pool.

Sports & Recreation
The 18-hole, 6829 yard, par 71 course at the St Lucia Golf & Country Club at Cap Estate is within ten minutes drive and has a pro shop, driving range and restaurant. The nearest tennis courts open to the public (courts must be booked in advance) are at the nearby Rex St Lucian in Rodney Bay and the St Lucia Racquet Club at Club St Lucia in Cap Estate (also ten minutes off by car), which has seven floodlit Laykold cushioned tennis courts, a squash court and gym. There are also two squash courts at the St Lucia Yacht Club at Reduit in Rodney Bay. The Sportivo fitness centre at Rodney Heights is St Lucia’s largest gym and offers yoga, Tai Chi and Karate classes. There is a full service spa at LeSport Hotel, within about 15 minutes drive, which you can visit with a day pass.

Locality
Admiral’s Quay and Rodney Quay are located right on the waterfront in Rodney Bay Marina, which attracts a healthy following with over 200 boats for the annual ARC (trans-Atlantic Rally for Cruisers) which usually sees its first arrivals in early December. The Rodney Bay area is a busy holiday centre with a range of accommodation. There are plenty of good restaurants and bars including one or two of the best restaurants in St Lucia, a shopping mall, banks, mini marts, Super J supermarket (on the main road) and a very lively nightlife. The nearby village of Gros Islet hosts the now famous Friday Night Jump Up which is an all night street party.

Nearby is Pigeon Island National Park, a forty four acre National Trust reserve which was joined to the mainland by a man-made causeway in 1972 and where there are several white sandy beaches. The island features ruins of many 18th century British and French military buildings, including Fort Rodney, and has an Interpretation Centre, a restaurant featuring local cuisine, a historical themed pub and restaurant and a lookout point at the top of the fort. Pigeon Point is also the main venue of the annual St Lucia Jazz Festival, held each May, which attracts a host of international stars. A ferry runs between the island and Rodney Bay on an hourly schedule. Castries the capital and the George F L Charles Airport (formerly known as Vigie Airport) which facilities inter-island flights only, are within an approximate fifteen minute drive.

Your airport transfers are paid for locally and take approximately 1hr 30 minutes from Hewanorra and 20 minutes from George Charles. Alternatively, if you would prefer to be taken care of from the minute you arrive at the airport, with a range of services that can include helicopter transfers, a Concierge Service please click here for
St Lucia Representative Services.

If you are booking through a travel organiser, it is likely that their representative will be at the airport to meet you. This service and your return airport transfers should be included in the cost of your holiday. Please check at the time of booking.

Getting Around
A hired car is strongly recommended for all St Lucia villas, unless you would prefer staff to call taxis for you as required. A vehicle will be useful if you want to dine out at night or do lots of sightseeing and particularly when it comes to shopping for groceries. Book car hire via your travel organiser or direct with
Drive-A-Matic (Tropical Villas will book this for you) or Cool Breeze Car & Jeep Rentals for your St Lucia car rental and ask for your vehicle to be delivered to the property approximately 3 hours after your scheduled time of arrival on St Lucia or the following morning. Vehicles can be returned at the airport or be collected from the property at a pre-arranged time on your departure day.
