Royal Reef Hotel is a small and independent hotel located off the main coastal highway in Greenwood, an unexpected stopover between the main resorts on Jamaica’s northern coast. Set in its own modern building and compound that gives onto a narrow, man-made peninsula and small beach, the hotel is a very pleasant retreat from the humdrum, and has a welcoming air. The rooms are brightly coloured in contemporary Caribbean style and there are touches of a Mediterranean layout. As a small EP (room only) hotel in an island of large all-inclusives, Royal Reef is untypical, but it is a friendly place and ideal for independent travellers looking for somewhere quiet and pleasant away from the main resorts, but with good quality rooms and facilities.
