Antigua and Barbuda / Hotels & Resorts

By Sara Macefield

Antigua possesses some of the most chic and luxurious properties in the Caribbean, which carry the added advantage of having their own individual style.

Visitors can choose from traditional upmarket establishments oozing elegance and panache or uber chic celebrity boltholes full of clean lines, cool shades and definitely no chintz. There’s even a plush self-contained island resort just off-shore.

All-inclusive resorts are well represented here with some of the better known chains, but there is also a selection of good midmarket hotels that have a strong and loyal following of guests who adore the picturesque surroundings and good service.

A mix of adult-only and good family hotels ensures that Antigua can cater for all-comers.

But the main thing that virtually all the hotels have in common is a beautiful setting on one or more of the island’s countless beaches, for which it is renowned.
