Barbados / B&Bs & Guest Houses

With its full range of accommodation, Barbados also has many inexpensive places to stay. These are mainly along the South Coast, which has a younger and sometimes livelier atmosphere and is generally cheaper anyway. A lot of the guest houses there are really very simple indeed, but they do offer you a friendly reception often in a busy area. Prices usually start at US$35 per night. There is a cluster of guest houses in Worthing, of which the nicest are probably Maraval, t 435 7437 and the very simple Cleverdale, t 428 3172. Other less expensive independent places are dotted around the island. Despite its name, Sea-U Guest House is not really a guest house, but more of an independent hideaway with self-catering suites and apartments. It has a cracking setting in Tent Bay above the Atlantic coast.

It’s worth remembering that as well as the guest houses themselves, some of the cheapest places to stay in Barbados are in fact apartments. These enable you to cater for yourself when you feel like it, though of course there are plenty of places to eat out along the South Coast anyway.
