Ascot House is an attractive guest house located in a quiet community in Gibbs in St Peter, just inland from the prestigious West Coast of Barbados. It is centred on Ascot Great House, an elegant Barbadian villa with five large bedrooms, around which there are three more modern, self-catering cottages, each with two rooms. They stand around a pool in pretty gardens just inland from (the excellent) Gibbs Beach and within a shout of the West Coast and all its activity. The guest house is run by the Fellowship Foundation of the Caribbean, a sister charity to the UK-based Fellowship Foundation International, which works in the field of mental health. It holds occasional retreats at the house (which caters well for groups), but outside these times it takes self-catering guests on a room only basis. Ascot House is relatively simple but very comfortable, an ideal place to stay for travellers that like this area of the island but do not feel the need to be caught up in the social whirl of the Platinum Coast, or its expense.
