British Virgin Islands / Villas & Villa Living
The BVI has a pretty good stock of villas, though by no means as extensive as say Barbados or St Lucia. Generally speaking they are quite simple, but a few stand out by being grand or architecturally interesting. Some are single, stand-alone beach cottages, others are set in large multiple building compounds and even private island resorts. Many are set on hillsides with spectacular views, but they are never more than ten minutes drive from a beach.
The general lack of staff extends to the villas and so it is rare for villas to come with a cook or a maid that will do your laundry. There is a lack of good management too.
