In Depth
Villas by Linda Smith is a highly regarded Jamaica villa rental company, which over the past 25 years has gathered an enviable portfolio of the finest villa rental properties along the north coast of the island. Based in the suburbs of Washington DC in the States, the company is run by its founder and President Linda Smith, who has deservedly earned a top reputation for her sustained attention to detail and exacting standards. She has instilled the highest level of service by personally ensuring that staff are highly trained and that villas are in top condition and beautifully presented.
Most of Linda Smith’s villas are located in the Montego Bay area, particularly at Round Hill, Tryall and in the Great River and Unity Hall estates. However, there are also some properties farther east along the north coast, including some lovely beachfront houses on the eastern edge of Discovery Bay and a scattering of properties in the Ocho Rios area.
Linda Smith had for many years owned a home in Jamaica herself although she now spends most of her time staying in the rental villas, each for a week or so, testing out the properties and training the staff. She started her company nearly three decades ago in 1985 with just two villas, first Tranquillity, which she renovated, and then Serenity, which she built. Both proved to be a success on the Jamaica rental market and soon she found herself assisting other home owners interested in doing business with their villas. She is deliberately selective, offering only villas that fit her style and standard, but gradually her portfolio has increased to over 50 properties. The hands-on approach for which Linda is famous entails extended bi-annual trips to Jamaica to oversee renovations, refurbishments, maintenance and most importantly staff training, all in order to ensure top service for her clients.
