Beach life reigns supreme in Barbados and all Barbados’s most sought-after places to see and be seen at, like Lone Star or The Cliff  restaurants, literally hang over the beach. From sandcastle building to turtle watching, the beaches in Barbados are hubs of activity, but that’s not to say you won’t find a deserted one to enjoy. There are three distinct coastlines which define the character of beach life here. The West Coast is the calm coastline with long beaches where you’ll find many watersports. In the south, the sand is flawless and the water protected by reef. Here you’ll find much of the party beach life. Head to the East Coast and the Atlantic trade winds make this one of the best places in the world for surfing. The south-east coast has incredible blue water and the dramatic Crane Beach is often considered one of the finest beaches in the world.
