Dominica Carnival Season -
"29 Jan, National Parade and the official opening of the Mas Domnik carnival season. Carnival Monday and Tuesday on 20 & 21 Feb are public holidays with colourful costume displays, steelband music, street parties, parades with calypso music and great Caribbean party atmosphere. The main events for carnival are: 08 Feb, Ole Mass and Sensay Festival. 13 Feb, the Lagoon Street Jam. 15 Feb, Pan and Barbecue festival. 16 Feb, Stardom King of the Tent. 17 Feb, National Queen Show. 18 Feb, National Calypso Finals for Calypso King or Queen of Carnival. 19 Feb, Kiddies and Mini Carnival. 20 Mar, Jouvert morning jump-up, Old Mas Parade and T-Shirt Band Parade. 21 Feb, Costume Parade and Last Lap. 22 Feb, Tiwal Vaval, end of carnival with the ceremonial burial or burning of Vaval, King of Carnival."
