Inclusive travel takes the hassle out of booking a holiday (this is particularly applicable for the UK, from where most Caribbean trips are sold as packages). While most holidays are sold from a brochure, the good Caribbean tour operators also offer a ‘tailor-made’ service, in which they build a more personalised package. If you want, say, two weeks across two islands or a stay-sail package, they can fix the arrangements. Don’t be hesitant to tap into their knowledge. Just ring them up and ask, but if they have been helpful it is fair to reward them with your booking.
Many tour operators are flexible enough to fill in the gaps if you have booked a part of your holiday already although they are likely to look unfavourably on a request for local transfers or car hire unless you also use them to book the accommodation! Most tour operators are not licensed to book flights-only tickets although some operators have a special division, a different company in fact, which is permitted to do so.
Finally, there is increased security in dealing with a tour operator. In the case of a dispute, perhaps with a hotel, there is just one company to deal with and they are generally registered in your home country. They are also fully bonded and give you financial protection.
