Nevis / Food & Drink
Nevis is not a place for party animals, and that is part of its charm. You won’t find casinos or nightclubs here. Entertainment tends to be centred on the island’s hotels, though there are a few atmospheric bars scattered at various points across the island. However, the restaurant scene on Nevis has improved in recent years, and it now boasts a good range of independent eateries that complement those in hotels.
When it comes to atmospheric settings, few can beat the romance of dining at some of the plantation house hotels that Nevis is noted for. But there are some memorable locally-run beach bars and grills that offer good West Indian food at reasonable prices in pretty surroundings amid a homely atmosphere that brings in the Nevisians too. At weekends these places tend to be more lively, helped in some instances by live entertainment or a local DJ and dancing.
