British Virgin Islands / Driving/Parking
Driving is on the left in the British fashion and although most of the traffic in the BVIs proceeds at a fairly sedate pace, be aware that on the south coast road on Tortola there is some shockingly bad driving – at high speed and overtaking on blind corners. It is particularly bad at night. Drive defensively.
Another thing worth remembering when you hire a car in the BVI is as some roads are unpaved they can do become muddy, so it is a good idea to have a 4-wheel-drive.
Parking
Parking in Road Town can sometimes be a difficulty. There are sometimes spaces in the lots near to the Village Cay Hotel. Traffic wardens do occasionally have a blitz, so stay aware. A seatbelt law has also been introduced.
