Cayman Islands / Driving/Parking

By Tim Ecott

Cayman’s roads are kept in good condition, though some smaller roads especially on the Sister islands may not be tarred. Driving is on the left in Cayman and speed limits are kept deliberately low. Take care in certain areas where a centre lane is provided for drivers turning across the traffic, because some drivers use the lane (illegally) for overtaking. Parking is free and most hotels and restaurants have ample parking available.

All car hire companies will issue drivers with a temporary Cayman Driving Permit.
