Grenada & Carriacou / Getting Around

You can get the best out of Grenada by hiring a car to explore under your own steam and seek out villages off the beaten track, but there are alternatives if you want to take a back seat and let someone else do the driving. There are numerous taxis, which can also be hired for sightseeing trips, or for an adventurous alternative try the local bus services, though route coverage can be patchy, especially in tourist areas.

One of Grenada’s strengths is its location for island-hopping with its sister islands Carriacou and Petite Martinique offering an away-from-it-all escape on the doorstep and the beautiful islands of the Grenadines chain just beyond.

For more information about local transport on Grenada, including recommended car rental companies, ferries and Island hopping options, please select a Getting Around Grenada category below or from the side menu.
