Jamaica / Getting Around
Jamaica was made for exploring, with its lush landscape and beautiful tucked-away villages and hamlets. As the third-largest island in the Caribbean, it lends itself to longer road-trips of a few days or more, enabling visitors to get under the skin of the locality. One of the best ways to do this is by car, which brings its own rewards and challenges as local transport may prove to be rather too adventurous for some, though there are a number of taxi companies and local tour firms that offer excursions.
Jamaica is also well-placed for travellers wanting to discover nearby islands such as Cuba or the Dominican Republic – though for stays of a few days rather than a few hours.
