Saba / Driving/Parking

By Nigel Tisdall

Driving is on the right. Road conditions vary but are generally good, although you should watch out for wandering goats and fallen rocks. The main trans-island route from the airport to Fort Bay is an engineering marvel that includes a snaking section between the harbour and The Bottom where drivers coming up the hill have the right of way and descending vehicles must wait. Hitchhiking is accepted practice on Saba, and you may like to give someone a lift. Parking is very casual, but do not ignore applicable signs and road markings.
