TDC Thrifty’s parent company is TDC. It is one of St Kitts and Nevis’s largest trading companies and has been in business for over thirty years. Here is a guide to the types of car that you can hire from TDC Thrifty.

SMALL CARS:

Mitsubishi Towny - A simple to use basic sedan, the Mitsubishi Towny provides its occupants with comfort and safety in a small package. Ideal for cruising about town, the Towny is an excellent choice in quality for price.

MID SIZE CARS:

Mitsubishi Lancer - Elegant in its design, the Mitsubishi Lancer offers a whole new realm of active motoring pleasure. With its solid construction built in impact-absorbing zones and advanced engineering, the Lancer achieves a high level of both passive and active safety while providing an ease and reliability

Toyota Tercel: Tercel's fun-to-drive feeling comes from a responsive 1.5 Litre DOHC 16-valve 4-cylinder engine that produces 93 horsepower with outstanding fuel economy. Transmission availability includes a 4-speed overdrive automatic transmission for around-town convenience.

Toyota Corolla: The Corolla is a good trusty choice of vehicle for a run around.

Group E - LUXURY CARS, Automatic only:

Mitsubishi Galant A/C, P/W  - The Galant's prestigious image and solid presence, while enhanced by its stylish design makes it a car of luxury. Other cars in this group might include a Suzuki Vitara (4dr), Toyota RAV 4 (4dr) A/C, P/W.

Group F - 7 SEATER SUVS, Manual or Automatic:

Mitsubishi Pajero A/C, P/W - The Pajero is the top of the line in luxury vehicles. Its sleekly sculpted body with built in frame offers more rigidity and a lower centre of gravity. Its off-road dominance with on-road comfort and prestige makes this vehicle an excellent choice for that cruising in style.

Group F - 7 and 11 SEATER BUSES:

Mitsubishi Van A/C - The Minibus L300 by Mitsubishi (11 seater, manual) is the best vehicle for small group transportation you can find.

Dodge - Caravan (7 seater, auto)

Suzuki XL-7 (7 seater, auto)

Terms & Conditions

The terms and conditions for car rental on the island of St Kitts (and Nevis) are as follows:

Minimum Age: 25. Drivers must have held a licence for over two years.

Driver's Licence: valid St. Kitts and Nevis driver's license at least two years old, or a temporary driver's license in the case of visitors.

Collision Damage: the hirer may pay a daily fee of US$10.00 for collision damage waiver. This covers a deductible of US$200.00.

Limited Third Party Liability Cover: this covers carries a deductible of US $950.00 or the hirer may pay a fee of US $5.00 per day as a waiver on the deductible.

Government Levy: 17% VAT on the basic rental charge

Minimum Charge: One (1) day, with each additional hour being 1/6 of daily rate.

Gasoline: Not included in rates but a gasoline deposit is required.

Payment: estimated rental charge plus collision damage waiver payable in advance.

Unlimited mileage, complimentary road map, free customer pick-up in metropolitan area.

Child seats and booster seats are available on request.

Rates are subject to change without notice

Method of Payment: Cash, Traveller's Cheques, Visa, Master Card or American Express credit cards.

Accidents: Must be reported immediately to the nearest police station and TDC Thrifty Rentals Ltd.

Traffic Violations: Hirer is liable for all traffic violations committed by the driver.

Usage: Vehicles are not for off the road use.

Delivery

TDC Car Rentals will deliver anywhere on the island and work closely with the hotels and villa management companies to ensure that everything goes smoothly. If your flight is delayed and you are not going to reach your accommodation in time for delivery, TDC will know about it and make sensible adjustments to the arrangements.

We recommend that you take delivery of your car at your accommodation rather than at the airport, unless you know your way around St Kitts well. At the end of your hire period, it is best to return the car at the airport. There is a small charge for collecting cars from villas.

Reservations

We recommend that you book in advance if you are intending to hire a car for longer than three days, particularly if you are travelling during the main winter season from 15 December until after Easter. Other busy periods for St Kitts car rental companies are over Thanksgiving, during the Music Festival and August. The best idea is to book your car at the same time as you book your accommodation or holiday.
