St Lucia / Taxis

Taxis are widely available in St Lucia, at the airports and in town and they can be identified by the blue ‘TX’ licence plates. If by chance you cannot find one, just walk into the nearest hotel and they’ll call one for you.

Taxis are not metered, as fares are fixed. However it is always a good idea to confirm the cost of your journey before setting off (also ensure whether you are dealing in US or Eastern Caribbean Dollars). Some sample fares, Castries to Hewanorra Airport is approximately US$80 for 1-2 persons/$100 for 4 persons and Castries to Rodney Bay around US$30/35. For a full listing of taxi transfer rates to villas, please see Tropical Villas.

Taxi associations and services include:

If the taxi transfer from Hewanorra is too long to contemplate you can make the trip by helicopter, which can be arranged by St Lucia Reps. The helicopter service currently flies into George FL Charles Airport (Vigie).
