Antigua and Barbuda / Regional Flights

By Sara Macefield

Its location in the north-eastern Caribbean makes Antigua a natural entry point for travellers wanting to explore the West Indies and reach other countries north and south along the island chain. Antigua acts as a classic “hub and spoke” operation with international flights arriving and feeding passengers into the local network of flights that serve smaller islands such as the British Virgin Islands, Nevis, St Kitts and Dominica, which do not have international links.

Local/Regional airlines with Inter-Island services into Antigua include:

Caribbean Airlines (former BWIA) has services from Jamaica (Kingston), Trinidad (Port of Spain) and Barbados.

American Eagle makes the link for American Airlines from its hub in San Juan.

LIAT use the island as their base

Air Caraïbes passes through enroute between the French islands to the north and south.

Barbuda is served by SVG Air and Montserrat Air with three flights a day from Antigua - two in the morning and one in the afternoon.

For getting to Barbuda by ferry, see the Antigua Ferries guide.
