Aruba / Getting There

Flights

Aruba is a very well connected destination with both scheduled and charter airlines landing at the Queen Beatrix airport in Oranjestad (AUA). 

From North America,  airlines offering direct routes to Aruba include AirTran, American Airlines, Continental, United, Delta, JetBlue, Spirit, Surinam Airways, US Airways and Air Canada. Flights to Aruba depart from New York, Washington, Chicago, Baltimore, Atlanta, Orlando, Miami, Boston, Ft Lauderdale, Charlotte and Philadelphia.

Europeans can fly with either KLM or ArkeFly from Amsterdam, with Blue Panorama from Italy or with Thomson Airways from London Gatwick. There is also a possiblity to fly across the atlantic with American Airlines from a number of European destinations and connect in Miami. 

Situated in the south Caribbean sea, Aruba also has good connections with South America, with direct flights to Venezuela, Colombia, Surinam and Panama with either Aserca, Avianca, Avior, Copa, Tiara Air and Surinam Airways.

Flights to the neighboring islands Bonaire and Curacao can be booked with Fly DAE, Tiara Air and Insel Air.

Passports & Visas

Canadian passport is required for Canadians intending to visit Aruba. It must be valid for at least three months beyond the date of your expected departure from Aruba. If travelling to Aruba for one week or less, you are only required to be in possession of valid photo identification and proof of citizenship (such as a birth certificate). No visa is required. Be aware that if you are travelling via the USA then you will need a passport. 

UK nationals require a valid passport. British passport holders may stay for a maximum of three months without a visa. 

The US State Department and the Department Homeland Security recently announced that effective January 2007 all US citizens and foreign nationals must carry a passport to enter or re-enter the US from vacations or business travel anywhere in the Caribbean. This requirement is applied to all air and sea travel. A visa is not required for stays of up to three months in Aruba. 

Some nationalities do need a visa to travel to Aruba, contact your embassy or travel operator for information.
