Bahamas / Getting There

Flights

Bahamas is very well connected to mainly USA but also to the Caribbean.

AA, AirTran, Continental, Delta, jetBlue, Spirit, United, Air Sunshine and US Airways together offer flights from many American cities. From Canada, both Air Canada and WestJet offer direct flights. Europeans have the choice to fly direct with either BA from the UK or Air Berlin from Germany or make a stop in somewhere in America.

BahamasAir, the national carrier, offer domestic flights from the main airport in Nassau to most of the smaller islands but also to Florida, Dominican Republic, Turks&Caicos, Jamaica and Cuba. It is also possible to charter their planes.

Other inter Caribbean airlines offering flights from the Bahamas are Air Turks&Caicos, Cubana and Air Jamaica.

Tourist Information

There is a Tourism Office on each of the major islands. 

New Providence

There are tourist information booths at Nassau International Airport in Arrivals, t 377 6806, and Departures, t 377 6782. In downtown Nassau, there is an office at Rawson Square on Bay Street, t 322 7801. 

Grand Bahama

There are tourist offices at the airport, the cruise ship dock and at the International Bazaar, t 352 8044.
