Barbados / Getting There
Barbados is very well connected to Britain and North America, with many flights arriving each day, usually in the afternoon. Currently there is a limited service from continental Europe. The island also has a good inter-island network and so it acts as a hub for other islands within the south-eastern Caribbean. In recent years, the island’s Grantley Adams International Airport, airport code BGI, has benefited from a multi-million dollar expansion, giving it a larger arrivals hall and more extensive facilities. The airport is located approximately 10 miles south-east of the capital Bridgetown, making it closer to the south coast resorts, a 15-minute drive away. The hotels on the upmarket west coast are an approximate 45-minute drive away.
