Bermuda / Getting There
Flights
The only airline connecting Europe with Bermuda is British Airways with a daily service from Gatwick Airport. European travellers from other countries are advised to either connect in London or fly to a nearby US city to reach Bermuda. Air Canada and lowcost airline WestJet offer direct flights from Toronto and Halifax. From America, Bermuda is only a couple of hours away, and airlines flying from the eastern coast include AA, AirTran, Continental, Delta, jetBlue, United and US Airways. There are no airlines connecting Bermuda to the Caribbean.
Passport/Visas
All visitors to Bermuda require a return/onward ticket or proof of onward passage and a valid passport for entry into Bermuda and for re-entry into their country of residence – this also applies to children of all ages. All passports must be machine readable.
Canada
Visitors from Canada will need to be in possession of a valid Canadian Passport and Birth Certificate or certified copy, or for people born outside Canada, a Canadian Certificate of Citizenship or Permanent Resident Card. No visas required.
USA
All visitors from the USA are required to present a valid passport for entry into Bermuda which is also required to enter or re-enter the United States. Non-American Citizens residing in America will also need a Permanent Resident Card. No visas required.
UK/Europe
All visitors from the UK/Europe must carry a valid (6 months prior to travel), machine readable passport. British and most EU passport holders do not require a visa, with the exception of Bulgaria, Cyprus and Romania – please see www.gov.bm under Immigration, then Passport & Visas for more information.
Please check with your foreign office regarding requirements for children travelling with persons other than their parents and for adopted children.
Tourist Information
There are currently three Visitor Information Centres which will provide maps, brochures, guides, bus schedules and activity updates. These are located in Hamilton on Front Street next to the Ferry Terminal (t 295 1480), on the King’s Wharf Cruise Ship Terminal at The Royal Naval Dockyard, West End, Sandy’s (t 238 4842) and in the World Heritage Centre, Penno’s Wharf in St George (t 297 5791).
The Bermuda Department of Tourism’s Head Office is located at Global House, 43 Church Street, Hamilton t 292 0023, f 441 292 7537. There is also a 24 hour information line for those in North America, t 1 800 BERMUDA .
