Getting to the BVIs may not be the easiest of journeys, but travellers are rewarded by the beauty and undiscovered ambience of this stunning archipelago once they arrive. Anyone travelling from outside the Caribbean has to fly into one of the main islands such as Antigua or Puerto Rico. From here, they need to take a connecting flight to the BVI’s main airport on Beef Island, Tortola. If they’re staying at one of the other islands, such as Virgin Gorda, a ferry or private water transfer will take them to their final destination. Those arriving on St Thomas in the US Virgin Islands can choose between a local flight or a ferry to reach the islands.
