Cayman Islands / Local Organisers

By Tim Ecott

Local organisers can sometimes make planning a holiday, a wedding or an event for larger numbers much less daunting. Travellers on a pre-booked 'package style' holiday will usually find a local reperesentative on hand to assist with minor problems on arrival or during their stay, but independent travellers trying to book and plan a more complex itinerary - especially for incentive or weddding groups may feel it worthwhile to pay a handling fee to an on-island specialist.

They have the local knowledge and contacts to advise on anything from excursions to car-hire, where to eat or how to book a suitable venue. Some can even arrange furniture and table or room decorations for that special venue - or offer advice on which beach is best for catching the sunset for those special commemorative photographs.

Whether you want to offer your group a jeep safari or find the perfect villa for your wedding or anniversary group the local knowledge of a good island-based management company may take a lot of the stress and uncertainty away from the process. You may want to order a limousine transfer, arrange for groceries to be delivered to your villa or hire a charter boat for some deep sea fishing - it's worth enquiring whether a local organiser will offer to make the arrangements - especially if you don't know the destination first hand.
