Grenada & Carriacou / International Flights

By Sara Macefield

Grenada is served by regular scheduled and charter flights from the UK, a seasonal service from Germany and flights from the USA and Canada, notably Miami, New York and Toronto. However, it is also possible to fly to one of the other main islands in the Caribbean and connect to a regional service. UK travellers doing this tend to fly via Barbados while American passengers generally arrive via San Juan. There are also links to South America with flights via the Venezuelan island of Margarita or the capital Caracas.

International airlines serving Grenada include:

UK

British Airways, flies twice a week, and Virgin Atlantic, once a week - both from London Gatwick.  British Airways and Virgin Atlantic also fly from the UK into San Juan, Puerto Rico, from where it is possible to connect on inter-Caribbean flights on American Eagle four times a week. Flights on Caribbean Airlines operate London Gatwick - Port of Spain (Trinidad) with a change of aircraft to Grenada.

Mainland Europe

Condor, flies weekly from Frankfurt in Germany during the winter season.

USA

American Airlines, has services out of Miami three times a week and routes most of its Caribbean services via its hub at San Juan, Puerto Rico, with onward flights on American Eagle. American Airlines offer an afternoon flight from Miami to Grenada every day in summer and winter and five days a week in spring and autumn. Delta Air Lines run a service out of New York (JFK) two days a week. It is also easy to make connections through Barbados with a number of US carriers. Caribbean Airlines (former BWIA) has a direct service out of New York (JFK) with the return via its home base in Trinidad, Port of Spain.

Canada

Sunwing operates a twice-weekly service from Toronto during the high season and a once-weekly service off season. Air Canada Vacations offers charter flights during the winter.

South America

There are links twice a week to the island of Margarita off Venezuela and onward connections to Caracas through Convisas, c/o DOP Co. Travel Agency.
