Jamaica / Regional Flights

By Sara Macefield

The extensive network of direct flights to Jamaica means that most travellers do not need to fly via another island. However, once they arrive, they can tap into the network of regional services from its main airports, notably its larger airports at Montego Bay and Kingston, to other islands within the region. As the third-largest island in the Caribbean, Jamaica is also sizeable enough to merit its own domestic flights and has a string of smaller airports and airfields to cater for them, notably at Port Antonio, Negril, Kingston, Mandeville and Discovery Bay.

Local and regional airlines with inter-island services:

Air Jamaica/Caribbean Airlines from Montego Bay to Barbados, The Bahamas, St Maarten, Antigua and Trinidad. Cayman Airways, Grand Cayman to Montego Bay and Kingston. Insel Air, from Curacao to Kingston, Jamaica Air Shuttle from Kingston to Haiti and Montego Bay to Cuba. Air Turks and Caicos, from Providenciales to Kingston. REDjet from Barbados and Trinidad into Kingston. STOP PRESS: As of 16 March 2012 REDjet has suspended all flights until further notice.

Local airlines with domestic services include:

Jamaica Air Shuttle and Skylan Air Services
