Bermuda / Currency/Credit Cards

The currency of Bermuda is the Bermuda Dollar (BD$) which trades at par with the US dollar. US dollars are accepted by all retailers but change is almost always given in Bermudian currency.

MasterCard, VISA and American Express cards are accepted at most stores, restaurants and hotels on the island. Both HSBC and the Butterfield Bank have ATMs located island wide in convenience stores, petrol/gas stations, hotels and at the airport – accept VISA, MasterCard, Cirrus and Plus for cash advances in Bermuda dollars only.

Travellers’ cheques are accepted throughout the island.
