Curacao / Currency/Credit Cards
The currency of Curaçao is the Netherlands Antilles guilder or florin, which is fixed to the US dollar at US$1 = NAFL 1.78. Following the dissolution of the Netherlands Antilles in 2010 this is due to be replaced in 2012 with a newly created currency known as the Caribbean guilder. In practice, the US dollar is used just as widely as the Florin. You can survive entirely in the currency if you wish. Credit cards are also accepted in all the hotels and any but the smallest shops and restaurants.
Money can be exchanged at hotel cash desks but you will find a better exchange rate at the bank.
