Puerto Rico enjoys warm and sunny days most of the year and an average temperature of 82.4° Fahrenheit. The trade winds that blow from east to west from the Atlantic keep the island at a comfortable heat and also bring the rain that falls most between May and November.

Puerto Rico is in the hurricane belt and although they are rare, there is a risk of direct hits. The most likely time for hurricanes is the middle ten days in September, but they have been known to come in August and, in one case recently, as late as November. Be aware that after a bad hurricane hits, the hotels and villas will not necessarily be ready to open a couple of months later or even into the following winter season
