Turks and Caicos Islands / Currency/Credit Cards

The official currency of the Turks and Caicos Islands is the US dollar, though some smaller local coins are issued. Major credit cards and travellers’ cheques are usually accepted in shops and restaurants used to dealing with tourists, but if you go off the beaten track or to a less inhabited island, you should take sufficient cash.
