About Deana Bellamy Photography

Having started out doing brochure photography as Product Manager for former specialist Caribbean tour operator The Owners’ Syndicate, which included shots of villas, hotels and some generic photography, it soon became something of a hobby.  On moving to Sale, Cheshire in 2002, Deana took a City & Guilds course in basic photography in order to better understand all the features on her Canon SLR and get better results. A course in portrait photography followed.  Now seldom seen without a camera, since working for Definitive Caribbean in 2003 and taking thousands of shots for the site, Deana now uses a Canon digital SLR – so much easier than taking 30 rolls of colour transparencies on trips!

My Caribbean favourites

A few of my favourite Caribbean experiences:

On a recent trip to the Caribbean someone joked that they will always remember me with a camera in front of my face and running off to take shots – mostly of flowers.  I have to admit that the more exotic a flower or plant the better and there is so much beauty and scope in the Caribbean if you are into nature photography.

There is always something to excite my creative side when I set foot in the Caribbean and when on route, I often hit the brakes and jump out the car (much to the amusement or annoyance of others) when I see something worthy of a shot. It’s the vibrant colours of the Caribbean that really set my mind alight.quote_close
