It is a tremendous opportunity to be involved with Definitive Caribbean; as a young travel writer, I am honored to be a part of such a dedicated and unique team. Definitive Caribbean is a refreshingly unbiased and comprehensive look at the islands, and as an Anguillian local myself, it is a pleasure knowing that they are genuinely working to bring the heart of the Caribbean to people all over the world.
Biography
Tess Hokin is an undergraduate and aspiring journalist who has lived in the Caribbean for the majority of her 18 years. Recently graduated from high school on the island of St. Maarten, Tess spent her childhood immersed in the diverse cultures of Jamaica, St. Lucia, Anguilla, and Canouan. Her mother and step-father, Elaine and Bruce Hearn are well known tourism professionals in the Caribbean, now based in Anguilla. Tess has been published online at Foodtripper.com and has used her considerable knowledge of Anguilla to update the Anguilla guide section of Definitive Caribbean. She is attending Glasgow University to further her education and prepare her for a career in travel journalism. We look forward to featuring Tess's articles on Definitive Caribbean.
