Anguilla / Special Interests / Family

By Jane Anderson , James Henderson

Anguilla is a high class, sophisticated island which caters well for families in search of idyllic beach holidays. Its calmer beaches are good for even very small children, though it is worth noting that there is not a great deal of shade on them, certainly not natural shade, so plenty of sunblock, sunhats and coverups should be packed. You won’t find many resorts with kids clubs but a few resorts have lovely playgrounds. There are plenty of natural attractions for children such as turtle and dolphin spotting and exploring off-shore cays as well as watersports.

Kidz Kare Inc, The Valley - open to 5-16 year olds, Kidz Kare looks after your little ones with a range of classes on Drugs & Crime, Anguilla’s History & Culture, takes them on Tours (Plant, Animal & Historical), gets them involved with Beach Cleanups and Educational Hunts and teaches them Face Painting and other  Skills. Services are available at your home, villa, hotel or even on your boat.

Baby equipment for rent, shopper service for baby necessities and catering for children’s parties all provided with First Aid trained staff. Owned and operated by Giselle Bartlette, who has worked with children since she was 14 and been operating from various venues around Anguilla since 2007.

Child friendly properties featured on Definitive Caribbean are shown below and include Carimar Beach Club, CuisinArt, which has a play ground, Cap Juluca, which runs an occasional children’s programme during holiday times  The Viceroy has a children's club covering all ages up to teenagers with a full range of facilities and activities.
