Antigua and Barbuda / Special Interests / Golf
Antigua has two golf course:
Cedar Valley Golf Club, Cedar Valley - Located on the north end of the island just three miles from capital St John’s, Cedar Valley first opened with nine holes in 1970, extended to 18-holes in 1977 and becoming Antigua’s first and only championship golf course. Designed by Ralph Aldridge, the par 70 course is short at 6157 yards but offers a challenge to golfers of all abilities with fairways threaded through mature trees. Holes at higher elevations offer vistas of the island and the Caribbean. Clubs (right and left-handed) can be rented, as can buggies and trolleys. There is a driving range and practice chipping and putting green. Private lessons are also available. The clubhouse offers a restaurant, bar and pro shop.
Jolly Harbour Golf Club, Jolly Harbour - Set on Antigua’s beautiful west coast, this is a compact and mostly-flat, executive 18-hole golf course measuring 5587 yards and with a par of 71 designed by Floridian Karl Litten. The course is laid out next to the Jolly Harbour marina and offers enjoyable holiday golf, but with seven lakes to spice things up. Among facilities are a driving range, clubhouse with snack bar, pro shop and club and buggy rental.
