Antigua and Barbuda / Special Interests / Motor Yachts

By Frances and Michael Howorth

During the winter months the leeward side of Antigua offers idyllic motor boating opportunities with wide-open bays, good holding ground and splendid sandy beaches.  Self-drive motorboats available for bareboat charter are however few and far between.  The coral, reef-strewn waters that surround Antigua and Barbuda are somewhat easier to navigate with a shallow draught motor yacht, but they are still testing.

Navigation around these coasts is not for the novice sailor but the luxury of a crewed motor yacht charter is a supremely good experience and there are plenty of charter brokers who will help.
