Antigua and Barbuda / Special Interests / Yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi other

By Deana Bellamy , James Henderson

Antigua is not that developed in the way of holistic activities, though a couple of the hotels offer yoga, Pilates and T'ai Chi sessions, including Carlisle Bay. Most hotels will have someone on call, but there is one centre and some private practitioners who hold sessions around the island and will visit you on request.

Chakra Body Works, Jolly Harbour - Air-conditioned clinic with licensed massage therapists run by Californian, Leilani Griffing. Regular yoga classes in the area (twice a week at Sugar Ridge Resort), including Ashtanga yoga – please contact Leilani for their current schedule. Private yoga lessons are available.

Kathleen Sharpe - A Hatha yoga teacher with over forty years experience, Kathleen holds classes at various locations throughout the island. There are weekly classes to suit all levels. Can do special group arrangements.

Jill Fuller - Well known artist and Hatha yoga teacher, who was trained by Kathleen Sharpe and has been running yoga classes in Antigua for over 20 years. Group and private yoga and meditation classes available by arrangement.
