British Virgin Islands / Special Interests / Bareboat Charter

By Frances and Michael Howorth

If you have never before tried your hand at bareboat chartering this is where you should start.  Short passages where the destination is nearly always in sight before you start will give the novice navigator great confidence.  Knowing that there is a safe anchorage within an hour of wherever you find yourself is yet another boost to the inner Sinbad.  The BVI, it seems, has been created for sailing and everything is made easy for those that seek to explore the islands by boat.  Easy to catch hold of mooring balls do away with the need to anchor.  Beach bars and restaurants, a dinghy ride away from the boat, ensure that no one gets tied to the self-catering kitchen sink.
