British Virgin Islands / Special Interests / Food Stores & Markets

By James Henderson

Shopping for food and drink supplies in the BVIs or doing your own yacht provisioning will be a little on the expensive side, as most of the produce will be imported.

Grocery stores and provisioning services in the BVI include:

Ample Hamper, West End and Road Town, Tortola - Grocery and provisioning store which also does great deli-style sandwiches.

Big Ben’s, West End, Tortola  – Small grocery store for basics.

Nature's Way, Road Town, Tortola - Good range of health foods and supplements as well as homemade juices, vegetarian health foods to take away and eat on the premises.

Chefs Pantry, Leverick Bay Marina, Virgin Gorda - A small supermarket and deli with imported and local food.

Supermarkets

In Tortola, try Bobby’s Market Place, which you will find on Wickham’s Cay in Road Town, in Cane Garden Bay and the East End, plus it has Bobby’s Gourmet Galley at Nanny Cay. Bobby's Market Place also provides a good provisioning service for both yachts and villas, including to Virgin Gorda.

All the supermarkets on Virgin Gorda are expensive. Go to Buck’s Food Market.
