Ease of access from North America, combined with modern facilities and several large properties able to accommodate groups makes Cayman a popular venue for conferences and groups on incentive travel visits. Proximity to Miami (just an hour’s flight away) as well as excellent air connections with several large cities including Atlanta, New York, Detroit and Charlotte as well as from Toronto in Canada. British Airways also serves the island from London via Nassau.

As well as meeting rooms, reliable internet connections (with Wi-Fi as standard in most resorts and even in the smaller hotels and guests houses) and reliably warm weather, Grand Cayman is well set-up to handle group excursions during down-time. Golf, catamaran cruising, excursions to sting-ray city and beach barbecues and receptions are easily arranged, and there are a number of event planners based on the island. They will arrange group meet and greet from the moment of arrival at the airport, hotel transfers and group events whilst on-island.

Cocktails on the sand or a dedicated charter boat trip to the sandbar to swim with the stingrays are typical events that a group can organise, but they might equally enjoy a visit a jeep safari, a visit to the botanic gardens or a tour of the historic sites followed by a relaxing afternoon at Rum Point with beach watersports organised by Red Sail. Venues are not restricted to the hotels and resorts, with sites like the historic house at Pedro St. James also available with seven acres of gardens, a café and meeting rooms.
