Cayman is a safe destination for families and offers a wide range of activities and attraction that younger members of the family will find enticing. Seven Mile Beach on Grand Cayman very much caters to the family market as do the villas and condominiums available at Rum Point and Cayman Kai. Many resorts and condominiums have a children’s pool in addition to the main pool. Swimming here is a joy in clear waters that are always warm. Children as young as ten can learn to scuba-dive and the lack of strong currents and fantastic underwater visibility make Cayman an ideal place to try the sport for the first time.

At the Ritz Carlton the ‘Ambassadors of the Environment’ programme is a popular and inventive way of providing young people with an insight into the natural wonders of the island environment. For youngsters aged 14 and over there is now a Go-kart track on Grand Cayman, a skateboarding park and a bowling alley. Snorkelling trips to Stingray City are very much a must-do activity for families. Children of all ages will enjoy spotting iguanas and visiting the iguana breeding centre at the Botanic Park.

There are specific attractions designed to appeal to children, including; the Pirate’s Caves at Bodden Town which is also home to an interesting collection of rescued animals and birds.
