Cayman Islands / Special Interests / Sports Fishing
Deepsea gamefish including tuna, wahoo, mahi-mahi and even marlin can be caught all year round offshore. All three islands offer sport fishing, and Little Cayman has shallow water fishing too – for bonefish, permit and tarpon. Much of the fishing in Cayman is ‘catch and release’. Some guides can also take visitors fly-fishing by arrangement. The annual Cayman International Fishing Tournament takes place in early May. A good source for information is the Cayman Islands Angling Club.
