The infrastructure ashore that supports sailing in Grenada is strong. This means that the bareboat charter business has flourished with some of the better run companies based here. The southern end of the island, where Horizon Yacht Charters and others are docked, is a gunk-holers dream. It is quite possible to enjoy sailing all day and anchor in a delightful new spot each night for a whole seven-day charter without straying too far from the charter base. And there is plenty to do ashore if you want a day on dry land. The island’s location at the southern end of the Windward chain, below latitude twelve degrees, is considered, by many, to be out of the main hurricane belt. Year round bareboat opportunities are available with less fear about what to do if!
