St Martin/St Maarten / Special Interests / Yacht Charters
If you want to charter a yacht, St Martin/St Maarten is ready for you. The island has 13 marinas with the majority on the Dutch side. A unique feature is the vast, sheltered Simpson Bay Lagoon which covers 12 square miles (32 sq km). It can be accessed via two drawbridges – the largest is Simpson Bay bridge with a width of 56 feet (17m) and depth of 17 feet (5m). Along with everything needed to repair, provision and rig a yacht, there are around 15 yacht charter companies offering various ways to get out on the ocean wave.
