St Vincent and the Grenadines / Special Interests / Crewed Yacht Charter

The islands of St Vincent and the Grenadines are where crewed charter yachts come to play. Young Island Cut is the best place to anchor if you want to visit the capital, Kingstown or explore Soufriere Volcano.  A short sail away is Bequia and the stunning anchorage offered by Admiralty Bay.  Magnificent Mustique, home to Basil’s Bar is just beyond.  It is famous for impromptu jump up parties that happen when superyachts carrying musicians anchor in the bay.  But hedonists should sail to the Tobago Cays.  Here sheer natural beauty of this gorgeous location that can only be reached by boat is perhaps the pinnacle of Caribbean yachting. Enjoy a rum punch while your chef prepares a mouth-watering dinner; heaven on earth?

The Grenadines are certainly regarded as one of the world’s top tropical sailing grounds.   The sailing is excellent, though more challenging than in some other areas of the Caribbean, like the British Virgin Islands, as the waters are less protected so there are consequently more winds, swells and currents to contend with.

There are some magnificent crewed yachts (both sail and motor) which can be chartered in for island hopping in these waters and the marvellous choice of anchorages give endless opportunities for snorkelling and diving. If the gentle breezes and the sound of the yacht cutting through the water is not enough of a stress buster, the crew can even arrange a massage or yoga session on board your yacht. If you enjoy sailing, there is simply no better way to enjoy these beautiful islands.

Depending on the size of the vessel the crew can range from captain and mate (usually cook) to a small uniformed legion. Crewed charter brokers in the Caribbean and metropolitan countries will help you. Unlike a bareboat, with a crewed charter there is not usually a delivery fee if you drop off in a different island from where you picked up.
