Conservation has started late in Tobago but it has begun to gain momentum over the past few years and now there are some programmes that are working well to protect the island’s fragile but extraordinary environmental heritage and wildlife. Two bodies involved in helping to identify and preserve the island’s architectural heritage are the National Trust of Trinidad and Tobago and Citizens for Conservation, a recently formed action group which has a Facebook page and a brief to promote the preservation of Trinidad and Tobago’s man-made and natural heritage.
