When it comes to romantic trips, Trinidad does not immediately spring to mind. It is a big, bustling island with a built-up and busy capital city that sits on an island that is more of a commercial hub than a tourist one. However, there is a good choice of hotels which can host wedding celebrations, but those wanting to escape from the built-up areas can discover its tropical interior with superb birdlife and offshore islands that are ripe to explore.

Unlike Tobago, Trinidad is not an established wedding destination but the Salybia Nature Resort and Spa on the north east coast is an outstanding location for nuptials with the Lookout Point overlooking the waterfall and infinity pool normally reserved for ceremonies; a dedicated team will plan every aspect of your wedding in a package including top class catering and a reception for up to 200 guests. Honeymoon and anniversary packages are also available. Couples are allowed to marry after being in Trinidad for three days, and must be in possession of airline tickets, passport and any other necessary documentation.
