This archipelago is overwhelmingly a place for beach lovers and yachties. It’s most developed islands may have good shopping, restaurants and bars along with spas, golf courses and tennis courts, but the emphasis always comes back to the sea. Visitors can go on tours to see the hawksbill turtle and brown pelican at Buck Island Reef National Monument, a protected island and coral reef ecosystem and there is plenty of opportunity for snorkelling, scuba diving and deep-sea fishing across the islands.
